Well, hey there! It's been a while, hasn't it? I can only apologise. My nose has been to the grind since moving to London. Although that makes it sound like it's been all go here that's not quite the whole picture.

A little update

It's Christmas, so I decided to look into something different. While most people were off playing their new computer games, I was have a (long delayed) play around with the new audio element in HTML5.

So. You’re new to the Kinect for Windows SDK, or you tried out the beta and are ready for the big time? Awesome. While I’d love to do a walkthrough video like I did for Beta 2 but since the update my screen recorder software doesn’t get on with the Kinect. Bummer. So text it is.

Natural User Interfaces are great. They aren’t just an input method, but they adapt to who is using them or indeed how they are using them. We could go into the complexes of NUI here but I’m not going to. Instead I’m going to give you an alternative to the gesture-based user interface you’re used to with Kinect – speech recognition and voice navigation.
